I. ON ARRIVAL

The Traian Vuia Airport is located 12 kilometres  (approximately 7 miles) from the city centre. Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals area. Bus #26 offers service to the city centre, with stops at Piata Badea Cartan and the Continental Hotel. From the continental Hotel, it’s a two minutes’ walk to the university.

II. THE UNIVERSITY – FACULTIES AND SPECIALISATIONS

Most of the teaching, especially in the preclinical years, takes place in the two main buildings of the university: Medicine I and Medicine II.

Medicine I

Medicine I, which is located at 2 Eftimie Murgu Square, contains the following offices and departments:

• Basement: printing shop, retail point for textbooks;
• Ground floor: the Rector’s Office, the Vice-Rectors’ Offices, the Registrar’s Office, the research department, the office for doctoral studies, the administrative offices of the Faculty of Medicine and Dental Medicine, the financial department, part of the Department of Anatomy and Embryology;
• First floor: the Department of Anatomy and Embryology, the Department of Biochemistry, the Senate Hall, the university library, copy centre;
• Second floor: the Department of Genetics, IT centre (internet access), cashier, histology lecture hall, genetics lecture hall;
• Third floor: the Department of Histology, the Department of Morphopathology, the Department of Languages, the Victor Babes printing house;
• Fourth floor: anatomy lecture hall.
• The International Department is situated in the building of the student hostel (across the street from the University main building)

Medicine II

Medicine II, located at 14 Tudor Vladimirescu Street, houses the following offices and departments:

• Ground floor: the Department of Informatics, the Department of Welfare Medicine, the Department of  Behavioural psychology, the Department of  Biophysics, amphiteatres I, II and III;
• First floor: the Department of Pathophysiology, the Department of Cellular biology;
• Second floor: the Department of Physiology, the Department of Parasitology.

The Faculty of Dental Medicine is located at 9 Revolution Boulevard.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, located at 3 Eftimie Murgu Square.
The clinical study is concentrated in nine teaching hospitals:
